This program has an assigned caseload of participants who receive supplemental foods as well as nutrition education.
This position gives basic breastfeeding information and encouragement to WIC pregnant and breastfeeding mothers; and helps mothers prevent and handle common breastfeeding concerns.
There is a substantial amount of client interaction in this position on a daily basis.
The employee will also be responsible for scheduling appointments, issuing food benefits, screening for WIC eligibility and completing WIC applications.
Education and
Experience:
Graduation from high school and demonstrated possession of knowledge, skills and abilities gained through at least two years of office assistant/secretarial experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
Requirements also include a mother who has personal experience with breastfeeding, having breastfed at least one child a minimum of 6 weeks.
