This worker will be assigned to administer the eligibility process for WFFA (Work First Family Assistance), 200% Services, Emergency Assistance, and Family & Children's Medicaid and sub-programs.
Included are MAF (Medical Assistance to Families with Dependent Children), MPW (Medicaid for Pregnant Women), MIC (Medicaid for Infants and Children), Medicaid for 19-20-year-olds.
Caseworker will be responsible for the following:
orientation, assessments, and determining eligibility for all programs assigned.
This worker will maintain a caseload consisting of WFFA, MAF, MIC, MPW, HSF and IAS cases.
This worker will take applications for WFFA, and process applications taken.
This position will also serve as back-up for taking and processing applications for the Energy Assistance Programs, as needed, and is required to perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Considerable knowledge of the program/areas of assignment.
General knowledge of all agency and community programs and services which could affect the client/applicant.
Good mathematical reasoning and computational skills.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret rules, regulations, and procedures.
Ability to communicate with clients/applicants, the public at large, and public officials to obtain data, and to explain and interpret rules, regulations, and procedures.
Ability to instruct and to evaluate the work of lower-level employees.
Ability to perform caseworker functions within structured time frames.
Education and
Experience:
One year experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker.
Preference will be given for bilingual (English/Spanish) applicants.
