Medical Aesthetician

The Skin Care & Laser Center of Central Dermatology Center is currently seeing a full-time Aesthetician to join our team in our Sanford location. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and display a positive, caring, and compassionate attitude. They should also demonstrate the ability to learn and master new skills quickly. To be considered for this position, all applicants must have Graduated from an accredited institution for Aestheticians and possess a current North Carolina Aesthetician's License, and have a minimum of two years experience working in a Medical Spa.
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide non-medical skin treatments and services to clients in order to optimize their skin health, appearance, and to promote beauty and self confidence. These treatments may include facials, facial massage, superficial chemical peels, epidermal leveling, and comedone extractions. Laser and light based technologies may also be used. Our Aestheticians also participate in the sale of products to assist clients with skin disorders, scars and damaged skin. Daily responsibilities may vary based on the Medi-Spa schedule and the needs of our clients. All work is accountable to the Spa Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Include but are not limited to:
  • Arrive fifteen (15) minutes prior to scheduled work time.
  • Ensure that clients feel welcome when they arrive for their appointments.
  • Perform skin care treatments such as facials, chemical peels, consultations and microdermabrasion.
  • Assess any skin problems or conditions, and suggests appropriate therapy based on current health of client.
  • Promote and sell products and services and recommend retail products for clients' at home use.
  • Uphold the standards of sanitation and sterilization as directed by law and the spa's policies and procedures.
  • Maintain spa appearance and cleanliness.
  • Stock and maintain treatment room.
  • Ensure that a high standard of service is maintained throughout the spa.
  • Assist spa in activities such as staff meetings, promotions, and open houses.
  • Maintains and increases knowledge of product line, and skin/body treatments through education/training classes.
  • Assist in all areas of spa operation as requested by management.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Graduate of a Licensed Medical Aesthetician Program
  • Current North Carolina Aesthetician's License
  • Understanding of physician's role within the aesthetics clinic
  • Knowledge of aesthetic equipment/services including microdermabrasion, laser and light based technologies, chemical peels and cosmeceutical products.
  • Possess excellent communication skills
  • Comfortable using email and interacting with internet and web-based applications
  • Knowledge of practice management systems and word processing software
  • Have knowledge of physiology
  • Be able to work as a team player

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • 2-5 years Aesthetician experience
  • Medical environment, medi-spa experience
  • 1 year laser or light based technology experience

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color acuity, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Location/Transportation
Our main office is located in Chapel Hill, NC. We also have additional satellite locations in Cary, Raleigh, Pittsboro, and Sanford. All candidates will be trained in Chapel Hill for a minimum of 4-6 weeks before being assigned to other offices. All candidates must have reliable transportation and be able to work in any of our locations, as needed or assigned.

Salary: Starting salary at $19.00 per hour, Negotiable based on education and experience. Also potential to earn quarterly bonus if goals are met.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
